Tula NATO 7.62 Primers on sale

Thought some may want to know -- Graf and Sons has the Tula 7.62 boxer primers on sale for $79.99/5K. That's $16/k. They are also waiving the handling and packing charge. As usual with them shipping is "free". You still have to pay $25 HAZMAT. I snagged some along with powder yesterday. I usually buy from Powder Valley. At the moment their price on the same primers is $27/k -- glad I checked at Graf and Sons first!

Help me out, I'm a bit confused. Are these standard size and power?

Standard size and power. I bought a box of a 1000 LR Tula Primers when I got home from Afghanistan this fall and they work the same. Not chrome-plated like Winchester Primers but they work.

Tula and Wolf primers are made in the same factory. At least that is what many web references indicate. I have had no issues with either brand and have fired thousands of each in a variety of flavors.

What's the difference between "Large Rifle 7.62" and "Large Rifle" primers?

I may be wrong, but I think the "Large Rifle 7.62" indicates a military grade primer with a harder cup for use in semi-auto rifles.

So they would be fine to use in place of standard large rifle primers as long as the firing pin strike was hard enough?
I am thinking about using them in my Mausers.

I would think they should work fine. My old Mausers will set off hard primers in 70 year old surplus ammo.:)

I am a Type 6 FFL holder (commercial reloader) I have been using Wolf primers exclusively in my products for a few years now. Not a problem with any size including 209 shotgun. There is absolutely no reason not to use them until the American companies come to their senses and begin charging something a bit more in line with these. Tula is another Russian brand and Russians know how to make ammo. Accurate ammo too. Some of the most accurate 22 lr match ammo came from the Motherland. Ever since the Obama scare of 2008, the price has never come down and the reason is we proved we were stupid enough to pay more. As long as there is a steady supply of inexpensive imports, buy up all you can. After a few more years of slumping sales, the American makers will likely get back to reality. I have already seen the beginnings already but they are not there yet.

i just bought some, the regular rifles are actually lead free. i couldnt believe it when i read it not that i need it. its just a plus. they must use fairy dust as a blast agent instead of lead stympthnate
