For me , there isn't much that frustrates me more than sprues that " hang " on the sprue plate.
I have a nice single cav., IDEAL 356402 mold. The mold cast beautifully nice .359" dia. bullets, near perfectly round.
Catch is........., the sprues were sticking because the sprue hole had some rough machining marks in it.
That is history now ! ! This should help my problem about 400%.
This nice 6 flute , 60 degree HS Counter Sink will really clean up sprue holes nicely.
The hole is smooth as a baby's butt now and the cutting edge in the very bottom of the hole will cut a very clean sprue now. I'll wipe a little bit of " Bull Plate " in the hole and I'm finished.

By the way, as you can see below, when the cherrie was spun to cut this mold, a chip made
a flaw in the nose. It seems to have nothing at all to do with the accuracy of the bullet, I ignore it.
