What potential problems are involved with reloading cast boolits for the 357 Sig? I've gotten the impression that no one reloads the 357 Sig with cast boolits.

If you have had success with this what mould are you using?
Gas checked or not?

...............tding, Welcome to the board! A 357 Sig huh? Don't know how flexible the cartridge is. From what I recall reading about it is that it was meant to do one thing. That is to equal factory 357 Mag ballistics using a 125gr HP. I cannot see why using a lighter recoil spring for light loads couldn't be done, nor why a good 124gr cast slug wouldn't work at full power? The only problem I see with the cartridge is the very short neck, and that this may cause a problem with heavier bullets and OAL, or some other neck related issue.

Before I traded off my Springfield XD in 357sig, I had loaded & shot a few cast rounds. I encountered no problems either loading or shooting them. IIRC I was loading a Lee 356-125RN sized to .356 & lubed with Felix.

That was a good gun & I sure wish I had it back!
