shot maybe 20 rds
spent most of the night trying to get the copper out of the barrel

Ok so have you checked the compatability and fit of your bullets to bore?

I have a .270 that fouls quickly yet the bore is very, i fact mirror, smooth. The reason it fouls is because the bore is tight. I intend to get a swage die to draw down some bullets for this one and that should eliminate the problem.

Now have you checked the bore is properly smooth. Might fire lapping help?

There are many ways to trace the real reason why it's fouling so badly, a change of jacket hardness, bullet bore fit and smoothing the bore are just a few. reducing the velocity just a tad might also make a difference ...................................... but then what is the point of a Swift if it's not high velocity? :bigsmyl2:
