I recently bought an old (1906-1916) H&R Premier 32 S&W top break revolver. I shot it with factory ammo and it did o.k.
Now I want to remove the cylinder and clean and lube things. I read on one forum to pull the barrel latch up but it did not release the cylinder. From what I can see I might have to drive out a small pin below the barrel at the base of the cylinder pin.

Anyone have one of these apart?

I have had a number of top break revolvers, nut ai cna't remember if any of them were H&R's. Some have a screw, usually in the top strap, that needs to be removed then the cylinder will slip right out. On others the cylinder will unscrew (opposite of cylinder rotation) once the gun is open.

I don't remember needing to drive any pins out on any of the ones I had to remove the cylinder.

Hope this helps,

Robert
