I found a Smith Model 10-8, 3" heavy barrel, round butt..... apparently made/ shipped in 1986.... at a local gun show a short while back. I have been wanting a 3" M10 or M13 for some time - finally found just what I wanted. Obviously a former LE gun, it has the usual holster wear, but a beautiful bore. Perfect function, as well. It even likes the same loads as my other revolver, a Taurus snubby. Wonderful trigger - I must say, those who rave about the trigger feel on older Smiths are not making it up. The gun shoots VERY well (2" groups, my first time out - and I'm not even used to it, yet). Last but not least, the price was quite acceptable.
I was all set to buy a new Ruger SP101 or perhaps GP100, but decided to cruise the other tables, just in case I might find what I REALLY wanted. I lucked out....and saved quite a bit of $$, besides.
I am a happy camper !
