New Zealand got hit by another earthquake again today. I would like to wish all those affected the best. And sincerely hope that any members here are ok. Frank

I heard it was two--both 5.8's. Those people around Christchurch have been getting hammered every few days FOREVER, either big 'uns or aftershocks, and I know their nerves are wearing ragged; in some of the pictures they look like deer in the headlights, or that thousand-meter end-of-tour stare. PRAY for them! It helps!

After reading this this morning I turned on TV news and never hears a peep about it. Guess the smart thing would be to search the internet.

A 5.8 is a shaker and I hope no one was hurt but my feeling is the media has become a bunch of drama queens that react to a number. It can vary depending on geology but a earthquake is usually minor thing.

The report I read said a 5.8 followed shortly by a 5.9. No deaths or critical injuries reported.

Good morning
A handy place I look at for earthquake news..
http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsww/
Gives world map earthquake info deating with basic intensity & time frame.
Click on area of the world which then shows a more detailed local map.
At any time click on colored box to get the actual quake info..this is very detailed.
Mike in Peru Merry Christmas all !
