How about "plated" boolits and polygonal barrels

[smilie=1: I've already broached the subject of cast boolits and polygonal pistol barrels. Seems some work well and other lead terribly. How about using commercial "copper plated" lead boolits in Glocks, H&K's, and XD's? Anybody have experience with these?

They're good to go.

Sent many thousands down the tube of poly pistols over the last 15yrs or so.

+1 never a problem. I didn't find top notch accuracy in the 1 of 2 kinds i used, could be my gun didn't like that flavor. They reccomend loading them less than 1200 or 1300 ft/sec. They will not lead your barrel.

The XD has standard rifling.

Just purchased 2 40's in XD, I did call Springfield before the purchase to double check on the rifling.

I shoot cast only threw both.

They seem to be fine. I shoot frontier through my G17 and there is no problem.

Never tried in a poly bbl. but the mfg. will usually suggest you not push them past about 1300 FPS, no matter what kind of rifling you have. A friend of mine chose to not heed their advice, typical for this individual, and he leaded a bore plumb smooth by pushing to 1600 FPS.

Never had good luck with the Raniers through the G17. Accuracy was marginal. Wouldn't hold a group at 25yds.
