robhrtsll-

In .44 Mag the one I shoot the most of is a Lyman 429667, I'd probably like it even more if it didn't have the bevel-base. The load is whatever LP primer I have on hand, (generally Remington) and 8.0 gr. of Unique. This has proven quite accurate for me in both the SBH and RH. Basically a good plinking boolit/load.

For 30-30, I haven't really come up with a good load as yet, I shoot a Lyman 311041 and have played with Unique, 2400, and IMR 3031, so far to no joy. I should probably mention that my 30-30 is an old octagonal 10" Contender and I am starting to think that possibly the barrel is the problem, not my loads/boolits.

Hope this helps.

Best answers will come when you tell us your main use of the .44. Hunting, plinking, silhouette, etc.

Looking for bullets and loads for mostly plinking, probably use like a 240g hp for deer hunting.
Iam using a super blackhawk hunter. thanks for any info

I have used, for years and several different .44 magnum revolvers, the Lyman Keith 429421 (240-250 grs), 50/50 Alox/beeswax lube, 23.0-24.0 grs of H110 and Federal LP primers. I have had NO leading problems and accuracy is outstanding (under 2" at fifty yards off the bench).

If you need a really big bullet, the Lee C430-310 gas check bullet will do it all ahead of a stiff charge of H110, Win 296, or 2400. You can safely get 1200-1300 fps with this 310 gr bullet. It is a REAL smasher!

Dale has it covered about as good as you will ever need. I think you will like the Lee boolit better for hunting. They really thump deer.
