Why did Hornady makes the stuff? Cabelas in Omaha is entirely out of all handgun calibers except 40 S & W. the other day they had many, many boxes of 9mm and 380.

Hornady is laughing all the way to the bank. Bet the retailers are loving it too.

Hats off to Hornady, great marketing gimmick.

Didn't miss is at all. I was involved in those discussions.

Just commenting on the fact it is selling like nothing else.

There is a local dealer selling this ammo and it isn't any more expensive in the .45 acp than the Hornady Custom.
It amounts to one more line of ammo for them that is making money, its no different for the Zombie hunters than the Cowboy line for cowboy shooters. The local guy is down to only a couple boxes left in a week or so of being on the shelf.

"Hats off to Hornady, great marketing gimmick." btroj, you hit the nail on the head there.

Zombie Max ammo is awesome. I have mine stashed away for the Zombie apocolypse!! I love the Nickelodian slime green tip.

I have a box of them, just wish the tips were glow in the dark. That would have been neat! I love the box they are in.

Load up some of your cast boolits and get some neon paint from a hobby shop & paint the tips of your boolits neon green.
Zombie killer boolits on the cheap.:D

Or use glow-in-the-dark paint on the tips. I thought they were GID already, sorry to hear they aren't. I think the whole concept of Zmax ammo is outstanding, and I hope they get rich off of it!

I said this in the other thread too, but I think there could be a market for glow in the dark tips on ammo. I would like to be able to pick up a mag in such a way that I am confident I know how it is oriented. I prefer night sights on my handguns for the same reason. I can look at my nightstand and know how the gun is oriented by looking at the sights.

If we could cast from a radioactive metal we could have glow in the dark cast Boolits. Of course we would die quickly from some sort of cancer but it would be awesome while we lasted!
