Went shooting yesterday with my youngest daughter who has been working on getting her Dr of Vet MD and at a vet hospital so it has been over a year! Anyways as we were getting ready to take the first cease fire, I was talking to one of the range officers and the fella right in front of us fired off a round, huge cloud of smoke, huge bang, a couple of pieces of the stamped sheet metal flew our way and he quickly sits the gun on the table and we had a very fast cease fire! It was one of the Saiga AK47s that the Asian gun shop owners in the LA area are pushing and it appeared in tack except for the missing top covers although I don't know much about them?! I asked him if he was trying black powder in his loads as he had been watching me shoot the Sharps but he said it was the first shot he had done with the gun, it was brand new! Hummm, I would suspect he had a plugged barrel and the ROs would not let him shoot it until it was checked out by a gun smith and deemed okay. I did ask him if he had cleaned the bore and chamber and he said no, didn't think it was necessary as the gun was "new"!

Guns and idiots are quickly weeded out! It's too bad some get caught in the aftermath!

It is a shame these new gun owners aren't savvy enough to read the manuals that come with the guns, or at least ask what should be done before firing. then again the gun seller could help out in this department.
Glad nobody was injured.

Agreed, but a lot of gun sellers don't know much about guns, either... Kinda why I opened my own shop!
