Rain the other day so instead of shooting today I reclaimed some lead at the range . Around 50-60 pounds in each bucket . All my body wanted to do .Marvin

Your body must take more than mine, takes me two or more trips to get that much. Nice haul and scrap makes fine boolits.

Had freezing fog at the range . And I did not fill like shooting indoors . So this time I headed to the outdoors rim fire range . In about a hour I had 4 more buckets as full as I care to lift . Marvin

Our range is so full of broken clay pigeons and rocks you have to hand sort everything. I wish it was not like this. The range has been here for over 50 years and from what I hear, I am the only one mining it. Some guys walk up and down picking up the shotgun slugs, but that is it. It takes about 2.5 hours to get 3/4 of a bucket. I have a two wheel cart to haul my lead back to the truck. Saves the back a little.

Nice haul, Marvin. Bet you can spill that off onto a tarp at the collection site and blow that chaff away with a leaf blower!

Thanks for the idea . It is not as bad as it looks . Pieces of target sticks for the most part .I just raked the top of the bank off . The rim fire range is at least 10 ten years old and never mined . I am about the only one allowed to mine there now . And the first haul was off the pistol range . That was the same about a hour of work . Because of the rain and flooding we had last winter they did not want me to touch the levee .So it has been about a year and a half since I pulled any lead from it . Pretty easy pickens right now . Pistol range had shooters on it today so I went to the rim fire range instead . Marvin

Wow I feel lucky. My 2.5 hours of work got me this. It's nothing but commercial jacketed bullets, mostly 180gr .40 S&W with a few OO buckshot and 223 mixed in. I use a 2 wheel cart to haul to the truck as well.

I do a little mining at the club, but the heavy clay soil makes it slow going... mostly hand-sorting. Oh well, the price is right, y'know?

Your buckets are full though . I can not lift that much any more . I know what you are saying . That 22 lead is looking better to me at this point . There can be a lot of graphite or molly to deal with some times . But those jackets are a pain . Marvin

The jackets are a pain but they bring a nice price at the recyclers. Makes all the work and effort worth it.
