I have the Lee 452-228-1R....
Is there a radius difference between the Lyman 452374 and the Lee equiv?
the reason I ask is this....
When I load to the OAL of 1.272 with the Lee sized at either 451 or 452 (tried both), My 1911 70 Series Gov Model will not chamber these easily, instead staying out of battery.
They would not chamber until I seated them to OAL 1.195 . This puts the entire shank of the boolit in the case leaving only the radius of the boolit exposed.
So, I wonder, because I do not have a 452374, the standard RN 45 by all accounts, if there is a radius difference between the two.
This might explain the discrepancy in OAL needed to chamber in my 1911.
Anyone have both molds? Do you see a difference? My quess says there is.
