Lets see some of everyones favorite Wheelguns, Pistols and Handcannons.
My main carry gun. A Sig P250C in 45 ACP....whats not to like a 45 that will hold 10 rounds and tuck in my waist band and be concealed by a t-shirt.

Who doesnt love contenders. Here is my buddy shooting my 10" 30 herrett.

I only shot one Contender years ago. A shooting compadre had one in 357 Herrett and 44 Magnum. I decided to try the 44 and I think I shot it twice, It was like someone had whacked me in the palm of the hand with a baseball bat-never again.
This one is my favorite revolver-the M29. It doesn't lead and with the 260 gr boolit offered by Accurate Molds and it's as accurate as your are-more so than the highly lauded 429421...in my revolver.

Next would be the good ol' 45 Auto. It feeds great, not picky and shoots straight.
http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x220/ColColt/Misc%20Stuff/_DEF3776a.jpg
This one is probably my all time favorite whether revolver or auto. Most reliable 45 automatic they ever made-S&W 4506

Absolutely, the less common the gun the better ! Be helpful for people to ID a gun they might not recognize right off when we can refer them to a picture in this thread.

It is a Shorty 45 from Smith & Wesson. Three and three quarter in barrel, seven in the mag. This pistol will feed anything. Ball, all manner of semi-wadcutters, even empty brass. The first eight from this one went into a group that would hide completly behind a US quarter at 20 yards. Weights two pound two ounces with eight 260 grain Keiths, ready to go.

For bumming around the woods:
S&W S-Prefix pre model 27 357 Magnum. Yep it's a five screw.
S&W Model 28-2 Highway Patrolman 357 Magnum.
For out in town:
Generation 1 Glock 17
Generation 3 Glock 26. This pistol is more accurate than a sub compact should be.

I've always loved the old black powder revolvers. I once had a Colt Signature Edition 1861 Colt but sold it. I just couldn't bring myself to fire such a beautiful piece of history and not being a collector per se, I sold it. Just a reminder, please post make, model & caliber. The main reason for these Show-n-Tell threads are to create a visual identification guide for folks who post "What's this?" type threads. There are already pictures in this thread of several pistols I'd never seen before and I'm not exactly a complete novice.
Great bunch of firearms represented here so far, keep em coming!

Wheelguns, Pistols and Handcannons it is. Here is a group shot and while I have shot all of them, I shoot the S&W type, Nagants, and the 1911 regularly.
Top left is an 1890 Tula Russia arsenal copy of the S&W Model 3 in .44 Russian.
The pair at top right are Russian Nagants in 7.62 Nagant. 1916 and 1931; both from the Tula arsenal.
Somewhat centered is a Russian contract Colt 1911 in .45 ACP. 1916.
Farther right is a British Webley in .38/200. 1943
Bottom is a C96 Broomhandle, about 1911 in .30 Mauser.

It's a 29-2. My attempt at "acquiring" one of the 500 5" ones made in the late 50's. The cokes came off the 45 Colt below it that was originally an early and well used M29 that I bought when I was living in Canada. The 5" N Frames just feel and look right to me.

A buddy of mine works in a gunshop and asked me to come in and look at a Colt Single Action he was considering buying. The seller wanted a ton of money for 3rd gen nickel .44 Special that the seller claimed had genuine ivory grips. The finish had a lot of wear, like it had been carried for years on a dusty trail in a holster that didn’t fit. The grips were white like ivory with Colt medallions. It had been shot some but the action was tight. The front sight had been filed. That alone generally requires a new barrel. We took the grips off and examined them for a long time, even scratched them on the under side. We concluded that he grips were imitation and the seller agreed to a step down price based on the poor condition of the gun and the grips being imitation ivory.
The gun was shipped off to be polished. Guess what, the grips are genuine elephant ivory. Somebody had taken a horse hasp to the ivory grips, apparently to make less slick in the hand. Now that gun has a nice shine and the grips are beautiful. Every now and then you hear about a story like this.

OK, you guys got the better of me, so here I go...
Most recently I dipped my toes into the world of the K frame.
Always an N frame guy, but these two popped up when I had a dollar in my pocket and who was I to say no?

Its been to Mag-Na-Port for an action job, forcing cone, and removal of the Ladysmith logo. She's a peach. :) Guy threw in a Don Hume holster, 2 full boxes of Buffalo Bore ammo, and a speed loader and a gun rug. Nice.
Here's my other new favorite, a 4" 13-3

Boy howdy, does this gun shoot!
I made some midrange magnums for these two, Lyman 358156 over 7g Unique and they do like it and I do as well. I know I'm not beating them up with it and they put 'em where I point the barrel. I shot some full house magnums just to try, @ 100 truth be told (same bullet & 15.5g W296) and they worked well.
As I said, I like N frames, so here's a couple 624's.
Both are no dashes dating to 1985 with a clean bill of health to shoot Skeeters.
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a51/SnappingTwig1/PB180009.jpg
They both shoot well - to say the least.
Everybody's got to have a 45 Colt - it's the law.
Here's a 25-7 I bought new in '89 from the San Francisco Gun Exchange. Boy I sure do miss them.
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a51/SnappingTwig1/P8180006.jpg
Lastly, a revolver I had custom made in '89, something I couldn't buy because every time I tried all the LH 3" magnums were spoken for.
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a51/SnappingTwig1/P8180025.jpg
Mag-Na-Port made this for me and I've carried it all over northern California since.
There's more, there always is, but that's for another day.

I have added some pistols since I shared pictures last time. The Colt single action was chambered in 32.20 when I bought it back in the '60. I didn't really like the cartridge. It makes a very loud crack when fired. After reading all those articles on the 44 special by Skeeter Skelton, I just had to have one so chambered. Colt offered them but I could never find one when I had the funds, so I took the next route. You could buy barrels for less than twenty bucks and cylinders for twenty five. The conversion did not work out well, the gun shoots high no matter what I shoot in it. The ivory grips next to the s.a. were made and fitted for it shortly after I bought the pistol for a whopping fifty bucks. The whistle at the top is an old English Bobbie's whistle dated 1938. No dought it was carried during the war. If that whistle could only talk.

A gun that doesn't get enough love for it's versatility. Loads that can range from a heavy .45acp equivalent to a hot 45-70 and be accurate at the same time. The 700gr load in the photo is just for illustration(on far left). I would not shoot it out of my 4 incher. I think it must be for folks that just want to say they've shot it.
My two favorites loads out of this gun are a 350gr @900 fps with minimal recoil and the 420Gr Belt Mountain Punch bullet@ 1500fps - no shortage of recoil, but still very manageable. The punch bullet will not expand at all, and should punch through just about any game animal. Kudos to Bill Bramlett, at Ballistic Supply, for working up both those loads.

Frame size on this big snubbie is about like an N frame. The gun is interesting because the barrel and frame are made from a single piece, and the barrel is lined. I don't know much about these and web research has come up pretty thin. Anyone got info???

Anyone got info???
I don't know anything specific about Thermodynamic Systems, but the one-piece barrel and frame with sleeve bore was once a common feature in bottom-end imported revolvers one generation newer than the cast-steel top break models, the ones for which "Saturday Night Special" laws were written. Consider: if any repair is required to the barrel, the gun is totalled, where most modern revolvers can be rebarrelled with relative ease and at reasonable expense.
I'd seriously consider avoiding full .357 loads in that revolver; even if the frame is steel, there's no way top be sure what steel, and the "cut corners" construction would make me nervous when approaching 38,000 psi. Probably okay with standard pressure .38 Special loads, but it might be rare enough (especially in good condition) to interest the right collector.

Jon B in Glencoe,
That 14-6 is all factory. I have it's twin sister. The 14-6 and 14-7 had the full under lug barrel. They are somewhat rare because S&W quite making them after the 14-7 due to low demand for revolvers and the .38 Special.
My favorites would have to be my group of S&W revolvers
686 8" .357 magnum, model 57 6" .41 magnum, 686+ 4" .357 magnum, and a 438 airweight 2" .38 special

I got a set of genuine sanbar stag grips finally for the Colt .44 special I'd posted earlier. It took a while to find some at a decent price with just the right amount of bark on them. I was afraid I'd have to settle for elk stag but then I found these, brand new in the box on ebay, never been fitted for $385.

There is just something about a 3 screw. This 44 and 45 are both awaiting the hacksaw so they can be somebody!

When they used to say "Colt, the world's right arm,"I think this is what they meant.

Scoped 1975 NM BH 41m. Old Boy I got this from bought it, the weaver no drill mount, Weaver rings & Tasco scope new in 75'. I put the Custom Stocks on to save the Ruger's. Its a tack driver!! Second one is a 1949 K22 Masterpiece. Im told the box & the target grips are Factory but can't confirm. Third is a Kimber Custom Shop Stainless Covert. #500 of 1000. The Gunny I had do the jeweling did a fantastic job!!
