Has anyone ever tried to PP Lyman 245496 and shoot 'em from a .243?

I have thought about it, but don't have a .236" or .237" sizer to give it a go.

You may also run into throat issues in your 243 rifle. Most of them have little to no throat with no parallel section, so it may be tough to get the patched boolit to chamber without damage.

You need a lot more nimble fingers than I have for sure. I have enough trouble with 30cal. Old age is a b***h, but it sure beats the alternative.

Yeah, a 25-06 would probably be better.

I would think, once you place 'em on the patching board correctly, they would roll pretty straight because most of 245496 is bearing surface with parallel sides. Nevertheless, I think a 25-06 would be a better choice.

In years past I patched a lot of 25-06s. Worked fine.

It's not everyone's style, but the short skirt patch might be the answer since folding the overhanging skirt is easy. Tailless (tiny overhang) patches work but require a good bond between laps. A long boolit is easier to patch than a shorty.

I would guess a CigRoller would patch them pretty good.
