I went to a old couples home the other day to look at a few guns they had for sale and they had a old pretty beat up Remington Derringer.

I did not want to buy it without knowing it's possible value?

It looks like this one but, the nickle is coming off at the front of the barrels and one side the grip is broken.

Has the latch been broken and repaired. Many have. What caliber, 41 rimfire. That ammo is like hens-teeth. More info would help.

It's a guess but, I think it is .41 rim? The latch is in good working shape.

At least around here, (So Cal) those things have gotten stupid expensive. Last two I saw for sale were 650 and 900 dollars and neither were any better than 75 %. That is a lot of dough for a gun you can't shoot--haven't seen any ammo for sale in at least 10 years..

I sold one of these a few years ago for $600. It included 50 rounds of "aftermarket" replica ammo that I had.

I also had an article from "The American Rifleman" from about 10 years ago that said it was worth around $1000 in excellent condition.

Mine was in more like "good" condition and was blued, rather than nickel plated.

you could still shoot it with the brass cartridges from Dixie

Cowboy action guys want them for realism, I think maybe there is a side match with
derringers at some matches. Is this correct, you SASS guys out there?
