Has anybody had Lee make an oversize mandrel for a collet die? I'm loading .311 boolits in .30-06 and am not satisfied with the fit I'm getting with the mandrel that came in the die. After seating and pulling a boolit, I'm finding that diameter is reduced slightly. I take it that a collet sleeve with a larger diameter hole will be required also. Just looking for a better fit. Does Lee offer this service?

Why not just order a collet for the .303 British?

Assuming you're using the Lee Neck Sizing Collet die, you may also be able to simply back the die out an 1/8 of a turn and put less sizing force on the collet.

I do as Ben has suggested. Back the die for the desired amount of neck tension, then use a Lyman M-die to expand the mouth just enough to accept the boolit.

Thats what I did to run larger diameter boolits in my 30/06.

Just heat the 30/06 Collet Sleeve up on the stove and chill the .303 mandrel. Then slap'em together.. l did it this way.

I may buy another Collet Sleeve one day, and have two complete Sleeve-n-Mandrel assemblies for speedy neck diameter changes without the need for heat... or I'll just put another collet die on the tool head... ah..decisions, decisions.

Thanks fellas. Ben, I think I'll try that first. Johnny C's suggestion looks like it'll work too. I appreciate y'alls help.
