I received my used 450 off ebay today and it looks to be in good condition. The piston had been driven down and needed a bit of persuading with a rubber coated dead blow hammer to come out, but it is out now.

How does lube travel from the reservoir to the sizing die? When I look down into the reservoir, I expected to see a port towards the front of the chamber, but I don't. There are what appears to be several small holes full of lube in the bottom of the chamber, but it might just be pieces that are stuck there. I wanted to make sure I'm not missing any pieces or that something is jammed into the reservoir.

I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions but until I get some lube and gas checks, it is a paperweight for now.

Warm it up, as the lube paths are full of lube.. If you have the size die out of it, the warmed lube will come out....

Do ya self a favor & cut ya a peice of pvc pipe 3/4" long & put it between the bottom & the pressure screw so the pressure screw does`nt run off the screw threads at the bottom.

NOW THAT ^ is a dam clever idea, wish I had known that when I had a 450. It never happened to my 450 but I would have done it anyway because I was always concerned that it would.

I was just noticing that you might be able to run the piston off the threads. I will go cut one right now. I think I have a lot of reading ahead to find a good bullet to start playing with my 30 cal molds...30-30 and 30.06 boolits to follow!

.311041 for the dirty-30 is the norm , my Marlin with micro groove likes a .310 boolit with GC

If ya keep pressures very low it`ll shoot em without a GC.
