I was at the gunshow yesterday and sold a 190 Winchester I had great shooter if you had the patience to think about the trigger, put up with it for years but got to be where it was intolerable. Saw a short carbine rifle M95 had $130 marked on it and was going to offer him $100 to start but I couldn't get his attention. He was talking to a man who had the table next to him and refused to even acknowledge anyone else (not just me) I finally left. I was tempted to go back but didn't saw him packing up to leave at the end and heard him say "two days and didn't sell a thing"
Never have had a M95 and liked the look and feel of the rifle, a couple of questions one are they hard to shoot cast in and is there any brass for them? two how accurate are they if they will shoot cast?

It's an Austro-Hungarian Steyr, .329 diameter bullet approx, rimmed round, like the 7.62x4 Russian.

I had one but never got around to shooting it before I sold it. For straight bolts, I prefer the K31 which has a much smoother action.

I saw some Steyrs online yesterday (JG Sales) for about $120 + shipping.

As accurate as you are willing to make them. Mine shoots just as accuratly as my Krag out to 100 yards. Brass is currently available from Graf's and Hornady jacketed ammo is running $25 a box. I use a Lee mould that is lapped and beagled to throw a bullet at .333 which is ok for my rifles. If you get one be sure to get clips with it as they are currently somewhat scarce and are going from 3-5 each. The M95's have been knoown to brek the extractor with continued single shot use. They don't flex well.

If you get one and decide to shoot surplus ammo get ready to be kicked! I had one and shot some of the Nazi marked surplus in it. Would raise my elbows right off the hood of my truck.

Wish I had tried cast in it. Might have to get another one from J&G.

I use the Lee .329 GC bullet and 14 gr of trail boss for good fun accurate mild load, but if I could get a .333 mould I would be much hapyer, with military amo you soon tyer of shooting the carbine

Freightman,
I have 5 of them(one has a custom stock).
I shoot the .338 oldfeller cast boolit in all of them and at 100 yards keep them all in a 1 inch circle.
They will kick like a mule with surplus but are not too bad with cast if loaded right.
Larry Gibson posted loads for it as well as Brett 2707.
I like them and think they are a great truck or brush gun.
Bee sure to get clips for it if you buy one as they are very prone to breaking extractors and I do not know of anyone that has them.
once in a while Numrich has them but they are getting more scarce all the time.

By the way how is the weather in Amarillo today.

Love the little gun. In the process of finding a good load combo right now. The 329 bullet wasnt doing it for me so I bought the 338 mold and lapped my sizer out to 332. I did get a 3" group at 80 yds yesterday in bad shooting conditions so I need to try more powder combinations in that neighborhood. I'm mainly looking for light recoil loads with trail boss but I will be looking for some stout loads as well since I plan to deer hunt with it also.

cloudy and cool with a SE breeze and if you know what a man from NWTexas calls a breeze 30mph+. Haven't been above 50 for a week and no sun, not use to that.

Feeding was flawless. That is the sort of velocity I am after, but I live in Australia were powder choices are limited and can not find a equivelent powder to IMR 8208-XBR on any of my charts,if any one knows of a ADI powder the same that woud be very helpfull
