say i wanted to have a octagon barrel of 35 inch un-tapered having a 15/16th diameter accross the flats. i further desire this to be bored to 40 calibre. furthermore i want it to have a 16 inch twist being rifled clear from muzzle to breech. i would need this to have a bolster in the breech and under-lug's to fit a lyman gpr rifle. maybe the breechplug to be a lyman so it would fit to my stock.

if i were to look for such a barrel...who and where would i look?

this to use black powder only of course and marked as such with a stamp on the top of the barrel of '40' cal with the front and rear dovetails cut and the barrel browned to boot. i wouldnt mind if the base barrel were a badger to start with if that were possible.

not too much i think for an enterprising person.

I would contact board member John Taylor and see if he can help you with your desires. I have dealt with him in the past and been very pleasantly pleased.

Green Mountain makes a 40 cal. 35 inch long round blank which could be made octagon. They also may make a untapered octagon blank that long. Check their web site.
