It is a Model 97 White ml cut down, stock is hand fashoned.
I have only pulled the trigger a few times just to get the feel of it. (460 grainers)

I have since fashoned a sling like the one pictured near the bottom of the page on this link. http://whitemuzzleloading.com/myweb2/images/whiterifles/hunting_pistol.htm

Does anyone here have any experence with these ?? Suggestions ??

i'm sure it qualifies to be here.
i could use it during our general season, but it wouldn't cut it during the muzzle loader season.
of which we ony have one for elk anyways.

Shot the Javelina today.

More powder did the trick.

I shot 9 times and did not swab at all between shots, (slip fit bullet used, wool wad too) but it seemed a bit dry so I blew down the barrel with my hand in an almost closed fist to put a bit of moisture in there between shots.

Not sure if I need to refine the length of the sling er what ??
I was not that comfortable, and adjusted 2 times during the 9 shots I took.
With iron sights, I had a 12 by 9 inch box that I put a 3" dot on to sight at. Shot 5 at 25 yards I think I could, after a bit of shooting time take this thing to the woods. Shots at 50 yards were 1 high, 1 right of the dot (closer than the ones at 25) and 1, I don't no. I might need to adjust my right hand so I get a better trigger feel. The shot at 50 that was the closest went off just b4 I expected it to. That is what makes me think the right hands need to be adjusted.................

and the 1st, 4 those of u who are counting, was a fouling shot at a 4X4 in front of my bullet trap, it connected.

fouling shot was 30 grains Swiss 3f under a UC short, thick wool wad used
all the rest were 60 grains Swiss 3f under 430 grain power punch, thick wool wads were used too

I used tinypic....looks like I need to figure that site out 4shore !

guys,
computer and hunt101 issues or I would have given an update sooner !

Sunday afternoon my friend and his family came over…. took out the Javelina, we adjusted the sling for him as he is tall and lanky. Then went outsidewe, took a fouling shot, then loaded with 60 grains Swiss 3f and a 430 grain buckbuster.

One shot, he did hit within minute of a deer vital area…………………….

I talked with Doc, he said to send it back…thought about it overnight, but I decided to talk to a friend who is a great woodworker from church. He told me to get all the old glue/epoxy cleaned off and get some Gorilla glue and set the piece back in place. Before I cleaned it up I held it in place and drilled some holes for some screws so that after I cleaned up the edges etc the strap holes would line up when I went to put it back together.

Later today when I go over to church, I will give it to another friend (classic cars & green tractors)who will take it home and use body filler to replace the body filler that came out and repaint it for me.
