I want to restore a Canadian No.4 that was sporterized by cutting the forearm off just forward of the lower barrel band. Dark walnut Canadian forearms are very hard to come by, so while I'm waiting I've decided to try to splice my shortened forearm with the upper end of a matching (as close as possible) forearm. I can hide the splice under the lower barrel band and stain the new piece if it's not dark enough. I don't want to mess up a nice forearm to try this, so If you happen to have a dark walnut Enfield forearm that is in rough condition, or even trashed, behind the lower barrel band let me know what you have and we'll see what we can work out. Even if you have the upper end of a forearm that you cut off behind or at the lower band, that would work. Best of all, if you have a dark walnut No.4 forearm that's in good shape I'd really like to hear from you. Thanks.
