i have a lee melting pot i use strictly for casting bullets and a coleman stove or hot plate to smelt.....

should i be using the Lee melter to get my smelting done quickier?...i do not use it to make sure i have a clean pot for boolits...

I use a turkey fryer burner and stand with a "built for the task" steel smelting pot that holds 80 lbs when filled to the brim (really a 60 lb working capacity). I had my pot fabricated by a welder friend. I recommend that if you have to buy the pot, get an appropriately sized cast iron dutch oven. Harbor Freight often has some at a good price.

Save your electric pot for bullet casting as you have been doing. You do NOT want all of that crud that comes on WW's to plug up your bottom draw pot. I just put clean, smelted metal in my casting pots.
