I have around 700 commercial cast boolits for 38/357 that are probably 10 years old. Other than being a little darker gray than when I bought them they look fine. The really old stuff (museum displays) are all crusty/dusty looking. When do they go from good to bad?

And no, I will not send them to you to take them off of my hands. ;-)

I still have some of the first boolits I ever cast, 358311, in the early 70s. Yes they are a little 'dusty' looking, but I would hesitate for a moment to load and shoot them, which I did with some a few years back. They were fine.

+1 on sundog. I've just recently loaded and fired some .357 Magnums using boolits (Lyman 358156) I cast some where around 1980. The old Lyman hollow stick lube was still right there in the grooves.

I used to store my lubed and sized boolits in an old freezer to keep the lube stiff. The freezer finally died several years back and became a storage box until recently. I know I have an Inca treasure map around here somewhere.

Load 'em and shoot 'em.

I still have about 300 .38 specials from a batch of about 800 I loaded in 1972. Bullets cast the same week. The bullets are dark grey but no white oxidation.

They still shoot 1" groups at 25 yards from a scoped TC.
