Good luck. Neat rifle but I think you may look for a while for a bolt.

Hope you find one!

Might have to buy another one for parts.

look at numrich by doing a parts search under Dutch as the maker, they have complete bolts for the rifle and the carbine. They are not cheap though.

Gunsofliberty,

I responded to your pm from the other thread.

The cases are easily formed from 30-40 Krag/ 303 British. CH4D has dies. Rifle magazine twenty years ago had a super article on shooting one. Seems just before WWI British sports in Africa liked the caliber for LION hunting, as in polo shooting (off horseback).

I could never find one in good enough condition.

Check The Dutch Mannlicher rifle info, that's where the Brits got the actions and/barreled actions for the 256M. A military bolt should fit and with a rimmed case, HS is not a problem.

There is the "possibility" parts from a 88 commission rifle "may" work. I have both firearms and the parts are "similar" and "may" be adjusted to fit. The hardest part I had finding was the enbloc clip for a dutch 95. I would bite the bullet and just buy a complete bolt or two.

$45.00 will get you a bolt.

Gunsofliberty,
If you can't find a bolt I know I've a couple at the shop. PM if you need one, the ones I've got are the carbine ones, bolt handle is bent down ...not straight. I shoot a military carbine and it is a shooter w/jacketed often 1.75" at 100yds. rested...171/2"bbl...HTH...Tedly
