Good deer and a good mess of ducks. Glad the boys are into hunting.

Chaos you are a lucky guy to have good huntin buddies like those.
I really miss my duck hunting. Do your pins have the long tails? We used to get a lot of them in Can. but none of them had any decent tails.
What a thrill to see a flock of ducks cup there wings an set into your decoys.

They are about 3 inch long sprigs on em right now, they will get longer as the season progresses. Season opens back up Dec 10 and runs to near the end of January.
This is a pretty one I was thinking of getting mounted. Going to wait another month until their Tails are really sticking out.

The one in your picture is much better than the one I had mounted. The tail on mine is about as long as the next shorter feather on your picture

Season runs late here and they'll be fully plumed by the end of it.
The good thing about hunting so far south is that the birds are beautiful by season's end. The bad thing about hunting so far south is they have seen every trick in the book by the time they get here. Spinners / Mojos just flare the heck out of birds.

Enjoy these times with your boys, all too soon they will be establishing themselves in the world of paying bills and making money to pay bils, their own families, etc.
You are doing right making memories now, take many pictures - you and your offspring will enjoy them in years to come.
The child who develops a passion for hunting and fishing (or dirt bike racing, or any number of other pursuits) will not be a child you have to go and bail out of jail.
You are doing a good job.
