New Mosin Nagant M91/30

Just picked up a MN 91/30. Bore slugs .310/.312.
I hae a Lee c309-170 that throws .312 consistantly. If I try 12-13 of Unique, is that an OK starting place?

Yes, 13 grains of Unique is a very good load to try and should be perfectly safe with your 170 grain boolit. I shoot the same powder/charge with a 210 grn custom slug & get excellent accuracy.

You may want to go with a fatter boolit, though. All of my Mosins will chamber and fire a .317" lead slug safely with any sane load.

I found a nagant with a very good bore, bought a russian sniper scope and mount, had them installed. using a lyman 311413 mold and 19.4 gr 2400. Im happy with it. The target was at 100 yds.
