Hello all, I have a couple large tubes 2"x6" of ballisticast green lube. This stuff is really hard. I tried to pan lube with some and that didnt work out...when I punch the bullets out there is no lube in the grooves and this stuff is really stiff stuff and hard to punch the bullets out of. I was wondering if I could use it in my lyman 450??? Just make up a little mold to melt it and pour it into to make the proper sized sticks, but will it flow in my 450 is the question???

Ive tried Darr lube but it leads badly the last 2" of my blackhawk 44 mag with the keith bullet. I have some RCBS lube sticks, but Id like to find a use for this green stuff....Any advice would be greatly appriciated.

put it in your 450 and keep a hair dryer blowing on it. It should thin out and flow ok.

Why make to into sticks? Just melt it in a tin can and pore it in the 450.

Ive use hard lube exclusviley for the past 25 years or so with no problems from leading or accuracy issues. IMO my gun stayed cleaner useing a hard lube .
From my experince useing hard lubes with a heater you will need between 95 to 105 degrees to get it to work in your lube sizer and you will also have to play with the pressure screw adj to get it to flow correctly
Or possibly mix it with a softer lube start at 50/50 to make a softer lube that will work in your sizer. or buy a heated base for your lube/sizer

Ballisti-Cast lube needs around 110-120 degrees to flow correctly in a lube sizer.

Melt it & pour in the 450. Use a mini hair dryer to warm it. I use this lube for most all bullets we ship. It does fine & of the hard lube I've used it's the best.
