I shoot a lot of IDPA where the power factor for Stock Service Pistol Division is 125 (vel. x weight of bullet in grains).

I cast the Lyman 356637 boolit and it falls out of the mold at 154 gr from WW alloy.

Using Win 231 2.7 gr under the boolit makes PF at a velocity of 860 fps. Accuracy at 15 yards is not particularly good out of my M&P Pro. My questions is this. Am I running the boolits to slow and will a higher velocity stabilize the boolit better resulting in improved accuracy?

It is cold out at the range this time of year so I thought I would ask for your opinions here first before going out and doing any testing.

I would think it is too slow. Does that charge lock the slide back after the last round? I load 3.5gr to 3.8gr of either Green Dot or American Select behind a 147gr cast bullet.

Yes the side locks back but the spent cases just fall out of the port more or less. NO jams but the cases don't go very far. I will try adding powder over the week end and see if accuracy improves.

My lyman mold drops them about 154 also with ww. I use orange magic lube with 3.4 gr of VV N320. My STI Trojan shoots them great. Low recoil. Need to chrono them but Its snowing like a son of a gun. Has a little bulge on casing but it feeds. Want to try Titegroup.

My 9mm IDPA load was the old Lee 150gr 38 Super boolit in front of 3.5 gr of TG and a WSPM primer. It did well in my Ruger KP95 DAO and DC. I wish they still made that mold.
