Well my ram top came in the mail from BT and I was able to finish setting up my press. The ram top is Great!!!!!! Thanks BT!

I used a Grade 8 bolt and a low profile lock nut for the punch. I chucked the bolt up in my drill press and used an angle grinder to take the bulk of the material off I then used a flat file to finish the last bit. Using the grinder heated the bolt up so I heated it back up and quenched it in water.

I also relocated the holes in the linkage on my press to increase the leverage. I am now able to easily size down my 45acp brass using a Lee push through sizing die.

I'm into this setup $120

I added a longer handle to my press today and did some red neck machining on a nose punch today. Here are some pics including the 295 grain Boat Tail Ballistic tip I made with the new setup.

Very Nice!

That handle is a monster, looks like you could be 3 ft. away from the press :)

Thanks man! The handle is 24" long and it's very nice! I was able to reuse the wooden ball from the stock handle. I need to put a bend in it but I don't think my propane torch will get it hot enough. I am also going to figure a way to mount the handle in the center of the linkages so I'm not putting the majority of the load on the right side.

That is very nice. What type of tool are you using in your Dremel? I have used the small grinder
stones and they seem to remove the metal alright but they also get wore down very fast.
I too use the drill press option for my work.
Poor country boys cannot be choosy.

Yeah I've had the same experience with the stones they just wear too fast. I'm using diamond cutters. I'll get a picture for you. I'd love to have a lathe and I am looking but it will be a bit before I get one so in the mean time this will have to do.

I sure wish it would warm up so I could try out my new bullets.

Ok a couple of questions. What caliber are those beautys? Are you using a 2ft handle and shoving that through a lee sizing die? I can't believe you don't break something. How much time did it take to make that punch. Nice work by the way

Do you have a good load for 300 grain bullets?

Yep it's a 2ft handle and I run the cases through a couple dies to reduce them down. Once the bullet is fully formed I run them through a Lee .451 sizing die to get my final .452 Diam. It only took me about 15 minutes to make the punch.

Never had any to shoot before, But if I had bullets, (hint hint) I would find one and load them up.

Good stuff!

You didn't show the ladder you use to reach that handle...:kidding:

Might want to get the handle clamp as a spare, some guys here reported
that they broke it. Only a few bucks from Lee. I can't remember the part name.
