how hard is it to swap out he barrels on a Ruger Blackhawk ??
I have a shorter barrel for a 357 mag that I would like to install on a
little used Blackhawk
I have a barrel vise already would I just need an action wrench ?

An action wrench and barrel clamps are the best way to go. Some people use a 2x2 through the frame but some Ruger barrels are so tight you can egg the frame that way.

Assuming you can get the old barrel off and the new one on, what is the possibility that the cylinder gap would be correct? I believe that you might need a lathe or milling machine to correct if it is not spot on.

Heck, not only the cylinder gap, but the sights!! Indexing on a revolver is something tricky. only way I know to do it is to install to torque, check and adjust. It is a process.
