Hi,
Put some Novak's on my FEG 9mm and thought I'd show some pics, the mill is a 1965 J head with a 36 in table. I need a DRO big time! On the last pic you can see I added BHP ambi safety, straightened the trigger
,pulled the trigger mag disconnect and changed the mainspring down to a 26 lb. spring. Still need to stipple and refinish.

Real nice looking job. How fast did you turn the dovetail cutter after the roughing was
done with straight mill cutters?

Hi Bill,
I ran it at the 325 rpm setting, using a very slow hand feed and putting plenty of cutting fluid to it. The dovetail cutting is the scary part because the cutter is about $75 and you can rip those carbide teeth right off! Ask me how I know!!!

The BHP Mk2 sight is a little smaller than the 1911 .45 sight, but you still have to open the dovetail a few thou front and back to get it to go in.

Looks great. Those FEGs are good guns. Had one years ago when you could get them for about $175!!!

Hi EMC,
Well.....those days are gone![smilie=s:

This pistol is the direct copy of the BHP and browning parts will fit with a little fitting. It was like new in box for $350 and from what I understand that is a decent price now. Of course a MkIII is close to $800 so that is a good relative price I guess,as I will put this pistol up to any BHP!!!

Thanks for the info. Working up the guts to tackle a 1911 of mine.

I had the FEG and a T Series Belgian HP at the same time. Liked them both equally. I have a MK3 now. Great gun.

I once milled a Smith kit gun adjustable sight into the slide of a Star Pony 380, and also installed a cut down version of the 1911's firing pin and firing pin stop. I hated the Star's tendency to break a firing pin if dryfired without an empty casing in its chamber.

Hi DR,
I always get nervous milling a slide for these sights because one slip up with the numbers and weve got problems!

Trench,
I owned a Star model 28, 9mm pistol for years and it was one of the most reliable, accurate handguns I've ever owned!
