I ordered 10 lbs of Holy Black from Powder Inc, as the local shops around here only carry the imitation stuff.

Order was 5 lbs of 3FG Goex
4lbs of 2FG
1 lb of 4FG

What I got was 5 of 3FG
5 of 4FG
and Zero of 2FG.

We called Powder Inc., too late already gone for the day and have emailed.

I'm sure they will make it right, with me but, how do I send back 4 lbs of 4FG as 1 will be a life time supply. As I know the law you have to have a special licence from BATF to ship BP and I sure ain't getting one just send back $50 worth of powder.

Get one of those little Baby Dragoon .31 caliber replicas and shoot round balls in it. FFFg will work.

At Powder Inc. (7:30 Am, their time) He apoligized for the mix up and is shipping the 4 LBs of 2 FG at his cost !!!!

Talk about fast service.

He said to donate the 4 extra lbs of 4FG, as I can't ship it back, to needy souls. I'm headed to a BP shoot in Mississippi in early March and I'm sure the group there will have some use for it. (Any Powder you order is NOT for resale.)

Just a thought, That makes Powder Inc. a sponsor for the shoot, will have to call him back and tell him and send some pictures of the shoot for their web site.

Why don't all company's operate like this?/

Well that's pretty much what they should have done to correct the situation. Good to hear.

Re using the 4Fg. There is a guy on MLer Forum bestowing the virtues of using 4Fg as a main charge in any sort of ML. You could try asking him for info but I imagine is he dead just now........................[smilie=1: :twisted:

Back when I shot percussion revolvers, I used a lot of 4F, as that was what I could get locally. I never had any problems, but maybe I was just lucky.

Here downunder, some of us are experiencing a different sort of situation. As the local dealer has a limit on how much powder he can have in the shop he informs me that for every pound of Black he carries he has to remove two or so pounds of white. Seems strange to me but thats what some of our officous Officials can be.

The nearest Blackpowder specialist is 300 miles one way and due to supply restriction or other only carries WANO at present and supply is to instore customers only. I am not certain as to where I could even find GOEX or SWISS.

Like some, I use flinters and have a lifetime supply of 4fg GOEX, enough 3fg to last a while for the small calibres and desperate shortage for the BP Cart S/G and Rifle plus musket.
