Should be awesome with a 429244 or 429642 over 23 gr H110 for hunting! Nice!

That looks pretty fun. Nice round trigger guard, too.

Better off with 240 and up.

Better off with 240 and up.

That was my thought also, especially with the 429642 "Devesator" HP cast of WW+2% tin/ lead at 50/50 or 16-1 alloy.

Yes, what ever works without fliers or leading. It is that the twist rate does not support lighter boolits unless shot very slow.
The 10-1/2" Ruger is very forgiving and mine will work from 240 to 330 gr bullets/boolits. But I never got a lighter boolit to shoot.
The gun is a cast boolit shooter for sure.
Just how lucky to find such a wonderful gun! I will never, ever part with mine. It is the silver hornpipe, stainless 10-1/2".
That blue one is pretty and does not deserve to be dirtied with jacketed stuff! :bigsmyl2:

Thanks for the input guys....Seems most are leaning toward a heavy boolit.
These are the molds I have in the 240gr range
RCBS 44-250
RCBS 429-SIL (My favorite)
RCBS 44-250GC
429336
429421
429244
429360

They all look good. Just have fun because you can make all of them shoot.

If it doesn't shoot good you can sure put a pistol whippin' on someone. :)

WOW a 3 screw flat top in 10-1/2" bbl. Must have a low serial number, eh?
Nice find!

Mine is what we call the Joker Gun.

It loves the 429421,...held correctly , so it rocks upon firing, while the boolit is still in the barrel, it shoots the tightest groups of any pistol I own.

Simply the best long barrel revolver .

Make it your everyday shooter, with a 1000fps load, and you will never ever be without meat. And your buddies will not want to look at your targets, it will p them off.

The trick with that gun, is the way you hold it and rest the weight of it on the trigger. Don't change the grips, learn to let it rock...literally.

When you tire of it, (i doubt it), or do not fall absolutely in love with it, (i doubt it), pm me....funds at the ready.

But, go make it your new best friend, and you will never part with it.

Sorry, but I had to post twice. I love this gun.

I routinely, including today, shoot at a 1" square dot on plain white 11 x 17 targets flipped around to solid white.

getting all six boolits to break the square at 50ft is my standard. 100yds 2" with my cast.

My best "cold shots"...first round fired during a shooting session...are with THAT gun...always in the sqaure at 50ft..
