Anybody using this powder with the 45 Colt?...

I am not actually sure where I found the data for it as it really doesn’t seem to appear much, or at least not in the manuals that I have, although there are some loads listed…

I have found it to be pretty accurate so far…

Gives a bit better velocity than H-110 when the charge weight for SR-4759 is .5 grain less than H-110…

Just curious…

Haven't tried it in my .45Colts yet, but have burned most of a pound in 30/30, 30/40 and .223. Its working very well in those cartridges. I really like the kernel shape. Its short, stubby, and runs through the powder measure and dribbler very well.

I have just started trying 4756 in .45 Colt. I like it a lot. Its kernel shape is very much like Bullseye, but a tad finer. Measures well, is a little slower than Bullseye.

I don't push my .45Colts to top velocites very often, but I'll need to investigate 4759 there in the next couple of months.

PS I do wish 4756 and 4759 had names with more difference than the last digit. 4756 is very much faster than 4759 and I shudder at the thought of someone (me?) mistaking one canister for the other. The kernel shapes are very different and I hope I would notice, but I am getting.....older.

I tried it in the 454 Casull and it burned dirty in the revolver (couldn't build enough pressure dispite having a compressed charge) but it worked well in the lever action rifle. I can't imagine it being better with velocity over H-110 but maybe it is.
