I am thinking of a 45-70( don't ask why other than just because) the gun is a 1886 reintroduction Sporting rifle with pistol grip made in 1996' in 45-70 Winchester model with full octagon barrel Made by Uberti , full length magazine, owned by one person and shot total of 10 times. What is a ball park price? or is there something I should know about this gun?

Curiosity compelles me to inquire---What are they (he,she or whoever) asking for it?

Miroku Browning at $1K seems reasonable. Uberti does not to me, but I have
no experience in what the current market is. Seems steep for an Italian version, but if
it is top quality and does not have the stupid "improvements" to the hammer, firing pin
and mainspring of the new Win Miroku 1886s, it may be a good deal.

$1K seems a bit "dear" to me also -- but this is from the guy that passed up an original chambered in .33WCF for $35 'cause he couldn't afford it. Of course that was s50 years ago and I was trying to support a wife and start a family on $1.92/hr. So much for "the good old days"! :-) Stan

I have lately seen those 1886's on the internet bidding wars for $1000 dollars to $2500 dollars. Nonetheless they have not sold in the last month or so, not a lot of buying going on right now.........money is tight for such toys![smilie=s:

If the Ussrac/Rrowning/Miroku 1886 has undergone "restoration" to a more original configuration by Turnbul's or another reputable firm to remove the late model "improvements", I'd add another $500 or more depending on the work.
In reducing his inventory, an old Marine friend gave me his, which is absolutely beautiful and unfired.. what a humbling honor... how do you repay THAT??

There is a new in the box Winchester light weight in 45-70 on gun broker for $999. The Uberti usually runs a bit less. I think it comes down to how bad do you want it.
