Calling all Savage experts

Does the new savage entry level model ( axis excess something ) use the same bolt heads as the previous savage interchangeable models ?

IE: if I buy a short action .308 can I change my mind and barrel it as a .223 later easily as you could with the 110 series ?

Barrel is the same, not sure on the bolt. There are no aftermarket stocks for these. So, it is what it is.

Cheap is what it is , and that suites me fine, I would just dearly love to have a multi talented bolt face, I tend to change my mind. :)
