I love this 6 cav mould! The boolits are gorgeous and shoot very well.

A little glitch I am having is when I eject a loaded round it catches on the ejection port of both my 1911s. One is SA Inc "Loaded" and the other a Colt "Commander". I set oal by using the barrel as a gauage. I load them to where boolit just touches the rifling or headspaces on the boolit if you will. It turns out that both guns use the same oal. I was wondering if anybodyelse has this problem?

I only noticed because we were doing some IDPA shoots and sometimes you have to unchamber a loaded round. Loaded round gets stuck between the bolt face and the front of the ejection port. This only seems to happen when you are on the clock! [smilie=b:Would you knowlegeable guys load it a little shorter, live with it or take a few thou out of the front of the ejection port?
Thanky,
Jay

I have three 1911's (two built up match pistols and a Kimber CDP II with 3" barrel). I seat the bullets so that they headspace on the bullet. Ejection is not a problem on any one of my pistols. The Mihec #68 is my most used bullet for both my 1911's and my Smith 625's.

You might want to check with a good pistolsmith. Mine is Jack Basham of Blue Ash, Ohio (suburb of Cincinnati). A phone call might solve it for you.

I relieve the front of the ejection port by .032-.050 with a half inch end mill so my 230 RN will clear, I got tired of jiggling the gun and dropping the round out the bottom of the magwell, plus it's possible to hit the primer with an extended ejector and have a round go off.

That is the same problem and solution I was asking about Ronbo.

Here is a thread on a 1911 gunsmithing forum about relieving the ejection port, including a few photos from me.
