LGS failed to sell this one after I fondled it awhile back, made them an offer they didn't refuse and now I'm the proud owner of a slightly used genuine replica cowboy sixgun. I'm thinking I may have a few 255 grainers sitting on top of 36grs of FFFg before long.:grin:http://castboolits.gunloads.com/imagehosting/thum_200614ecb21d77936c.jpg (http://castboolits.gunloads.com/vbimghost.php?do=displayimg&imgid=2782)

Nice. I sure like the way they look, but I've never shot one...therefore haven't had the guts to buy one.

Thanks. I was on my way to buy furniture and this eased the pain a bit, somehow.[smilie=l:
Never handled myself one until weekend before last, I have big hands and was surprised at how good it felt. Pic doesn't do it justice, grips are actually pretty nice but could use a better finish. Hope to add a 5 1/2" Cattleman or Colt someday but couldn't pass this one up. Don't pick one up unless you're in the mood for a little paperwork, Matthew.

Very Nice ! I have a 5.5 inch barrel Cattleman and I love it. 8 grains of Unique and a Lee 252 grain SWC works very well.

Mine is the same but chambered in 44-40. I shoot it with the Holy Black and that bird's head really doesn't fit my hands. Either that or I really need to concentrate on the sights with that short barrel.

I'm a little worried about the sights but like the grips. Haven't shot the little cutie so it's all speculation at this point. I have a Universal load I like but something about this pistol screams for BP.
44-40 would be nice, I've been seriously contemplating a levergun in that cartridge, a sixgun to match is only natural. Adding new cartridges is quite expensive for this reloader/caster these days, 44-40 might be worth it.

What really helped me with my front sight was a dab of ORANGE fingernail polish on the top back tip of the sight the brightest I could find. It really helped.

I have a pair of the Uberti birds head 45s, use them for CAS, they like a .454Ø boolit.
Tried black in them, after 10 shots there locked up from fouling(machined parts fit to close)

Easy to work on, a spring kit and some action work slicks then up pretty good.
With a little work you can get a load that shoots to the sights for any distance you care to shoot.

Mine don't lock up quite so quickly. Some lube and a wipe on the cylinder pin and I'm good to go again.

Very nice gun..the 45Colt round is impressive and quite powerful but expensive, for factory ammo I have to pay over a dollar a round.I recently bought a Uberti Cattleman .45 Colt which was "Antiqued " at the factory. I bought a reloading set-up so that I can afford to shoot the gun. The setup that I have will only dispense 23 grains of black powder as it came but there is a kit that I have ordered that will allow more powder. With 23 grains and a couple of hard wads it shoots very well.
Enjoy your new gun, I really like mine:

TX I have one just like that in .44 Special. Fine, fine shooting sixgun. Hope you enjoy yours as much.

Very nice! I have a pair of Ruger Vaqueros with 3 3/4 " barrels that I shoot for Cowboy Action, in 357 (regular grip, soon to be birdshead) and 44 Mag (birdshead). They shoot very well and draw easily from a holster. The little one is a matching 22LR Single Six from Talo.

I find the birdshead grip very comfortable, even with heavy loads. In my hands it tends to roll back up when fired.

I have a snub barrel Uperti in .45 with the bird head grip. Gladly would I trade for a standard grip. The bird head feels like I am shooting a banana and does not point for squat. Otherwise, the gun is decent.

No worries about affording factory loads, been shooting 45 Colt for almost 15 years and haven't dropped the hammer on a factory load yet.
That's a striking trio, wellfedirishman!
