Well fellas I know next to nothing about scopes.. SO any advice on a scope that would work for my marlin camp carbine in 45acpwould be very helpful. Looking for something under $200 if possible...

I tried a couple of Tascos & Bushnells on mine--they all broke. I now use a Simmons 4X shotgun scope. The Marlin 45 has an unusual setup--you have recoil and the snap back from the bolt slamming forward from the recoil spring..similar to the problem with a springer air rifle.

I think I would look into one of the new Redfields, they are made by Leupold and have the same warrenty, most of the scopes are well under $200.

Nikon 2-7x shotgun scope is pretty nice also for around $120.

I have a Red Dot on my 9mm AR and really like it. It is one of the old Tasco PDP3s with a 10 min dot. I really like that combination. It is so quick, we were shooting pigeons out of the air as they came out of the barn. (yes, we had plenty of private, posted land for the bullet to fall in)

If it ever goes, I'll get one of the UltraDot 6 for it.

I just put a cheap $40 dollar red dot scope on my marlin .45 camp and it's
deadly out to 50 yds. I think it's a NC Star.

Bushnell at one time made a 3-9X32 scope. I think it was for airifle. It was adj from 5' to infinity. It has an AO. If you have forward and rearward recoil, look for an airifle scope. Sportview series, 79-0039, marked waterproof.
