I picked up a almost unblemished 25n, this is with the microgroove barrel and it really shoots.
I had been looking at a new bolt 22lr and was thinking about the Savage MKII as I like a good trigger and wanted to try the accutrigger. However the plastic stock, trigger guard were a real turn off.
So I was very happy to find this 25n - blued metal, wood and metal furniture only and in very good condition.
Yesterday was some testing with a variety of 22lr ammunition - interestingly it seemed to prefer the cheapest - Stirling brand, made in the phillippines for Fuller Firearms Australia.

Now certainly this is only at 25 metres, sitting with a tree for support but I was very happy.
The trigger has some creep but probably just needs a 1000 round trigger job.
Now my question for castboolits: the rifle came with a generic 4x scope and the rear iron sights have been removed to fit this. Front blade still in place.
Should I order the marlin stock sights to replace - or consider the Marbles, either leaf or folding? Marbles also have available in Australia the bullseye which is the combination of the older spring sight with elevator and a peep.
still thinking about what to do.
Anybody else run a 25n?
