I got the go ahead from Miha to open this buy. It will be a gas check version of this run:

This will be a 2 cavity, gas check mold. Diameter will be .513", and it will use the Gator .50 Rifle gas check.

Options will be round HP pins, pins that are flat on both ends, and 5 sided (penta) hollow point pins.

2 cavity mold,85$ plus 16$ extra 5 sided pins plus 15$ shipping

The price might go up a little bit. It will be months before we get enough takers, and the raw material price may go up.


MIHA will invoice you by email for payment when the molds are done.

This will likely take a while to get the required 15 orders. Any help from our members to spread the word to potential buyers outside our forum would be greatly appreciated.

Do I understand correctly that the HP pins can be reversed so the mold casts a flat nose boolit in this mode?

Hardcast, you will get a set of additional pins that will make flat point boolts, and be flush with the bottom of the mold. The HP pins can be reversed, but they are subject to damage when run in that mode, because the points are sticking out the bottom of the mold.

I don't know about you, but I am in the habit of being able to sit my mold down bottom side down whenever I wish. The flat pins are a great improvement.

I will try to get some pictures up. I haven't noticed any on the site of the new pin sets that are flat on both ends since Miha started making them.

Ok, this ia a .513, which sized properly would be .510, or in other words a very suitable cast bullet for the 50 BMG, but weighing in around 450 grains. And I would need gas checks for it as well, maybe even a check makers as well. I have been casting for a while, but new to gas checks and anything but store bought molds. Also, can a star sizer handle a bullet this large? Or do you use a lee sizer?

A Star will handle it. But, I size the boolits .512 for the .500 Linebaugh, and I would do the same for any .510 bore. That's only 1.6% over bore.

Guys, no worries. This buy will run if I have to buy the form tool myself. It's just going to be a while. I have discussed this with Miha. He has alot going on right now. If we will just continue be patient, it will happen.

According tp the info I got, it will use LONG, but if the lonng will work, so should the short. I plan on getting some shorts to try. The extra space could be filled with lube, or not.
