I'm pretty sure that will fit. Hodgdon has data.

I wouldn't shoot em' in my Ruger! Sounds more like 475 Linebaugh loads.

Yes you can fit that much 296 in a 480 case with no issues. I'm using a 400gr boolit, not sure how much longer that boolit is compared to the one I'm working with.

I shoot the lee 400, 50-50 stick on clip on ww water dropped, sized 477. Lapped out the rcbs sizer. 20 grains of 296. Was getting about 1150 1200 fps thru the chrony.
This was shot out of my Taurus raging bull 81/2 inch barrel. They shoot great out to 100 yds using a red dot on paper. Can hit the metal target at 200 most of the time. And when you hit a deer with them they don't go far. Had one doe angling away from me made mush of the lungs went thru the off shoulder and did not have much for meat loss. Have had no luck with the lee 325 or downloading the 400 with unique.

thats what I can't get over the accuracy of this cartridge
I hadn't had a mold yet so I used Hornady XTP's in the 400 gr weight
bought 2 boxes figuring I would have to burn up a box to get the sight rite
BINGO first shot dead on @ 50 w/iron's and the other 5 made a 6"group
for me with iron's and the first time shooting I will take it

I've gotten lazy on load development. I measure from the base of the boolit to the crimp groove then mark a dowel rod at that length to know how much to fill the case with H110. Then dump it in the pan and weigh it. Round up or down to get to an even grain. Viola, I have my load. :)

Work up until you stick brass, then back off .5 grain. Then go .3 grains incrementally lower and see how low you can go while maintaining the accuracy point. By doing that you are:

1) Finding the max load

2) Finding the lowest speed that is both accurate and has the least flash and muzzle climb for consistency.
