about out of my 2/6/92 and will need to mix up something to cast more .45acp. Got a couple iso cores, some mono , some lino , COWW , a bit of pure lead and a bit of 95 % tin. What would be a good mix using 1 core ?

For the .45 why waste your alloy? Just go straight CWW with a splash of tin. No worries.

Are you trying to duplicate the 2/6/92? Do you have more of something that you want to use to make the rest last longer? I have no trouble with straight ww in my 45.

I am thinking that one part lino one part core and one part pure would put you close to the 2/6/92 but I do not know what the mix is in the core. I am sure that you could use two parts of pure lead one part lino and one part core and it would be fine.

In the .45 all I've ever used was the 2/6/92, only mixing I've done was equal parts COWW and cable shield with a touch of 95/5 for the 9mm's and that worked fine.

Actually I see theres a box of range minings that I wouldn't mind mixing and using up

I would mix that with the lino. 2 parts range scrap to 1 part lino. Actually you could use 3 parts range scrap to one part lino and still come out about the same as coww.

Mix up some small batches and shoot some and see how they do.

the iso cores [either 1/3/96 or 2.5/2.5/95] mixed with the ww's would do fine for the acp.
heck you could mix some pure @25% to that mix and maybe, most likely not, add tin as needed for mold fill for the acp.

If you're trying to duplicate the 2/6/92 using the large isotope cores that are 31.5 lbs. of (1, 3, 96), then use:

One 31.5 lb. iso core + 16 lbs. of Linotype = 47.5 lbs. of (2% tin, 6% Antimony, 92% Lead) alloy.
