Lyman, RCBS type top punch furnished with each mould
as well as a sample of Bull Plate sprue plate lube.
Moulds are machined from 2024 Aluminum
Used for high strength structural and aircraft applications.
Tensile strength range 30,000 to 63,000 psi
Sprue plate (blued), alignment pins, and hardware will be
carbon steel.

You are in EXACTLY the same place I was about this time last year. I was steered this way from quarterbore when the discussion of this boolit started and I joined just for this boolit.

Like me, you now have the time to read up all the great info here on casting boolits and to start scrounging for lead. Take your time (you've got some) and gather the things you need second hand. I found a couple of great deals on ebay (of all places) on a smelter and lubrasizer. Just be sure to research the stuff here first so you don't buy junk.

Now a year later I've got 9 molds (a few more on the way) and two tire shops that I'm "the WW guy" at, and hit them up every month for WWs. Tip, bring doughnuts.

On a side note, what twist would be required to stabilize this bullet in a .308 or .30-06 at supersonic velocity - say 1300 FPS? I would think that it would be easy to obtain that kind of velocity in one. Will a 10" twist do the job?

I was recently given a small flat rate box of these boolits from I suppose a previous run. I loaded them for my 30-06, my dedicated cast boolit rifle. I loaded them over 11 grains unique with a large pistol primer, no filler. 1130 fps, and a 50 yard group 5 into 3/8 of an inch. This is too cool of a design. No, they did not fit into the magazine and I had to use the rifle as a 2 shooter. Light recoil, low, low noise, and I havent done a penetration test yet, but they whacked the plywood with authority. I have to get in on this.

4 cav, 2 plain base, 2 gas check. Drill for probe.

I will probably use these for head shots on piggies during the first annual Cast Boolits Pig Hunt. That way there are witnesses and pics!!

Does anyone know how this boolit would work in a 7.62x39 shot from a mini-30 (with a .3095 bore)? If it would work, I would be interested in getting a 4 cavity PB mould. Am I correct that with that small a case that it probably wouldn't be getting shot fast enough to need a gas check?

Cast with a 2 cavity
Dimensions right on
PB weight with my WW material 243.6Gr.
GC a snug snap fit.

Finish QC and start to box them up yet today.

Mine doesn't look 100%, sorry. I hate to be a thorn, but this is not what I was expecting from a premium mold maker. It appears I have gouges at the nose of my mold.

I put some pictures in my album of the deformation if anyone wants to comment. Maybe I'm just to damn picky, but none of my molds have this deep of cut in them. This is only on one block of the mold, and doesn't appear on the other side.

It looks like this is more in the 4 cavity blocks but it has been
reported in a 3 cavity block too.

Yup, the guys who build for us are the best in the business. I had small problem with a NOE mould a year ago and Al went above and beyond to make it right.

Not like the LEE days when you waited 18 months wondering if yoou would even get anything and even then if the product will even be use-able.

With NOE and MIHEC you will get a mould and it will perform as expected! :bigsmyl2:

how bad/deep is the gouge? it may shoot fine as is as its seems to be on the non bore ride section.Look at it like an index mark.

I agree with George (HarryMPope) on this one.

I have a mould which I bought online (22 cal) LBT Mould and it has a witness/index mark on one cavity (very very small punch mark) . Previous owner of mould wanted to ID the mould cavity for reloading from same cavity, and it's gone when I size it from nose punch.

I have the scuff marks on (2 of the cavities) of a 5 cavity mould and I am going to keep it. Heck if it wasn't point out I wouldn't of noticed it, its that small.

I have not cast with it yet but I am quite sure that when cast, if there is any marks on the boolit, the nose punch will iron it right out.

I have a two cavity mould without gas checks.
Mould works very well and I am impressed with the quality.

The video released on his Twang n' Bang YouTube channel shows what this boolit will do to a ballistic gel block.

Unfortunately for me, this boolit will not feed reliably in my AR without having to modify the receiver.
Lots of folks are able to make them work just fine though.

I'm hoping to come across a new mould design that has a shape that is 300 BLK optimized.
