The wife juiced out 2 gallons of wild huckleberries in the steam juicer.
Huckleberry jelly and syrup are in the making.....dale

Huckleberries are a PITA to pick and clean.
Very time consuming but worth every minute.
I think they have the most intense flavor of any berry.
Mold Maker, you are missing out on one of the best flavors ever.

I ate them straight off the bush all the time as a kid. I've always thought the bush was beautiful, too.

Huckleberry Pie is a deer camp staple. Discovered it from this little jar sent to my huntin buddy. The pie filling ain't cheap but sure is good.

gee mostly here we have sand hill plums , while those are great i sure feel cheated because in missouri wild persimmons,gooseberries,and even wild strawberries flourished , but if you've spare huckleberries ... the recipe below is great - it also works with blueberries raspberries etc
