I have a love affair going with Solo 1000. You will need a chrono though, different powder lots are highly variable in velocity produced. It's the cleanest burning powder I've ever used.

My favorite powders for the 9mm are WSF & POWER PISTOL

No idea except it's a single base powder. Maybe that's a trait of that type powder? It's very bulky so there is no way to double charge and meters very well for my small (3.2 - 3.5 gr.) charges.

I don't mind chronoing if I change lots. We shoot a good bit and burn a lot of powder but you get 2000 +/- rounds per pound so it's not like it's something you have to do frequently. It only comes in 12oz. or 4lb. containers. I made sure my 3 small containers were the same lot. Per pound it's cheaper that most 9mm powders too, at least through Powder Valley.

One magazine of Unique leaves a dirtier pistol than 300 rounds of Solo 1000 with the same bullet at the same velocity.

I've always used clean burning Bullseye (um hmmm) lol unique, 231, for light to mid range lead, and AA#5 , or Blue dot with jacketed.

Lighter boolit= less recoil. That said, 4.0 grains bullseye behind a 125 grain boolit is mild recoiling.

Green Dot is my target powder for 9mm. I use 4.0 gr for both 125 and 147gr.
