I'm sure this has been asked before over and over.

I did a search with no results I'm looking for.
I'm wanting to remove the lube from my RCBS sizer press.
I've got Zambini in it now.
Only way I know to remove is to use my heater and start cranking.
Is there any easier way than that to remove?
Thanks to all advice given!!

Some thing are a tricky endeavor, this is not.
I have done it before and did it this way;

Remove the handle and linkage & sizer die from the sizer,
place in a very large pot of water and bring to boil.
"Cook it" for several minutes and fish the sizer out of the pot.

The lube should melt out of the sizer.
When water had cooled and the lube has
solidified on top you can then remove it.:bigsmyl2:

remove the sizer die first and push all the lube out through the hole for the sizer die (just keep turning the pressure bar).

Less lube to boil out.

Thanks Hickory on that.

I see i messed up and was asking about the press not the sizer die.

But thanks for the tip on the die, I need to remove it also.

OK, thanks for that advice. I was thinking that might be what I needed to do, but wanted to make sure.

"remove the sizer die first and push all the lube out through the hole for the sizer die (just keep turning the pressure bar). "

and then use a hair dryer to warm it up and melt out the rest.

Ok thanks for that advice dragonrider.

Only problem is I aint got a hair dryer..aint got no hair!!
And my wife never uses one. Dries her hair out and makes it brittle.

Remove the sizer die and crank the pressure screw to force out all the lube that will come out though the die opening. Then remove all the linkage and pressure screw and put it in a pot of boiling water. I got my pot from a second hand store for a dollar and it works like a champ, melts the lube out of the nooks and crannies in the system. Be sure to dry and lube the metal parts after removal from the water.
