:Fire: I'd like to get a aftermarket barrel for my Glock 22c. Who makes a good quality barrel I could put in myself?

Brownell's might have what you are looking for.

Barsto and Jarvis come to mind immediately as expensive top of the line barrels. For the money, I would recommend Storm Lake barrels. They shoot great and are around a hundred bucks for a barrel that will drop in without any fitting. I have shot several of their barrels and have been very impressed. IMO they can hold their own with the most expensive aftermarket barrels.

Thanks eka and all.
I was looking at the Storm Lake barrels because of the price and because they are drop in. If they shoot that good I have pretty much made up my mind unless something better comes along!

A friend replaced his kaboomed .40 Glock bbl with a Barstow and
has shot it very much since. Says it is much more accurate and
leads less than the factory bbl. May not be true for 9mm,
but probably is and Barstow's rep is excellent in general.

My 2 cents worth.

I fitted a Storm Lake bbl to my GLOCK 34 a couple of months ago. It dropped right in without any fitting. I find it a tad more accurate than the factory barrel and at only US$98.00 (bought it whilst on holiday in USA) it's a real good price as against the Barstows etc.

No shooting experience with the Storm Lake barrels, but I saw Ron's barrel before it was fired and it is BEAUTIFULLY made. I have a little time in grade with the Bar-Sto's, and they shoot very well--but they require fitting, and cost twice as much as the S/L's.

Thanks to all
I desided to go with a Lone Wolf barrel. Sounded like a good deal at $90.
It is 1" extended with 2 ports. I'll let you all know how well it shoots!

When I installed a longer, ported barrel, the gun shot several inches lower.at 15 yards. I put on a MMC adjustable and steel front and was then able to easily sight in for the stock or long barre.

How well do you like the MMC's?
Thanks,

The MMCs work very well, with a good sight picture. For my eyes, I like a rather narrow front sight that allows plently of daylight on each side when in the notch. Have not used their night sights.

I'm considering sending my CZ75 to MMC to have the slide machined and their low profile rear sight installed.

Yes, let us know. I've got a candidate or two that might benefit from a conventional rifled barrel.

Tried the new barrel today. Didn't shoot as good as I hoped but no worse than the original glock barrel. I can't blame the barrel any at least not yet because today was less than ideal. Cold and windy. That and all my loads are on the low side to keep leading down and because of the unsupported glock chamber so I probubly need to crank up the powder a little and that might improve the accuracy some and I was shooting off hand. I have to say this though it was spitting out the brass better, I didn't have to look all over as much!

Got a Federal Arms Corp barrel. They're defunct and I believe that they are now Storm Lake. Shoots cast lead 175 gr Lee TLSWC accurately.
