I generally won't post about anything as non theoretical as buying a new gun, but I've been watching out for one of these a long time. I'll admit that I could have bitten the boolit sooner, and I'll also admit to being a cheapster. I picked up a Ruger blackhawg Buckeye special in 32-20 with a spare cylinder in .32 H&R mag. yesterday, finally. I haven't got it yet, it has to be shipped here from Georgia. I was going to build a K- frame 32-20, but Numrich has cancelled my back order (and didn't tell me)for a model 16 barrel, and I haven't found a K22 cylinder yet either. They said that they had expected some from S&W, but they hadn't shown up. I'm going to sell a model 19 to recoup my money.:bigsmyl2:

I had one of those .....well at one time also the 38/40 10MM and the 44/40 44 mag also
But all 3 got sold off to make house payments while I was fighting Workmans Comp
Oh Well

My 32/20 32 H&R liked the largest boolit I could seat in the case and still chamber

Got one of these in 38/40...10MM. haven't loaded up or shot the 10MM yet, but did some work with the 38/40. Using Lyman #401043 (175 grains) and 19 grains of IMR 4227 (a Taffin loading) it shot accurately , but kicked like a blue mule. LLS

I think you will like that 32 Buckeye. I have one and it seems to not be too picky about loads and can take the heavier/stouter loads just fine.

Good on you Leftiye! I just can't swing the prices they get for them these days, but if I ever see a cheap one I'll try and get it. The 32-20 is one of my fav cartridges.

I've been trying to get Lispeys to reintroduce those Buckeye convertibles. I was told if enough interest was expressed they'd consider having them built. Both the 32 and the 40 convertibles have long been of great interest to me, I just can't afford what they sell for now.

Amen to Lipseys. I'd like to see one on the smaller frame as well. I have a Buckeye and it's a great shooter but big to carry. Now, a blued 4 5/8 or 5 1/2 barrel would be better.

Brian Pierce said in his latest Handloader that he was talking with Lipseys so maybe they'll listen.

Now a combo in 10 mm/.40 S &w would get a lot of play. So would a .30 Carbine short barrel with a .32-20 cylinder. Then, there's a .38 Super cylinder for the combo .357/9mm. Think I could let my imagination run away with me./beagle

Yes, 32-20/32 Mag or 327/30 Carbine. The 32mag/327 cylinder would get the most use from me in 32 S+W Long. What a great field gun! I'm not a Ruger SA fan at all, but a small frame with a 5 1/2" barrel, in BLUE, would work for me.

Of course, if they could sell it for $250.00 I'd really be happy!
